J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings, Houghton Mifflin, 1st Editions, 12th/13th/13th impressions

These books are later printings of the 1st US Edition, still a highly collectable set.

A clean and lovely set of first editions of this classic of fantasy literature.
The set is all original cloth but lacking the original dust jackets.

The Fellowship of the Ring states 12th impression published in 1962. Both The Two Towers and Return of the King state 13th printing, but no publication year is mentioned.
The set shows signs of wear, like for example a coffee ring on the front of the Return of the King and some stains to the text block. Overal nice looking set, but has bumps to top and bottom of the stines. The Two Towers is the better copy of the three and has still a nice blue spine.

Besides being read and treasured, this set is very collectable.
