The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
A paperback set housed in slipcase with artwork based on a design by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The Lord of the Rings, with Part 1 The Fellowship of the Rings, Part 2 The Two Towers and Part 3 The Return of the King.
These paperback books are in read condition. With several bumps, rubbing and even some loss to the spines.
The textblocks however are very clean, with some slight darkening of the pages.
The spines look broken from reading and show some loss to top and bottom
The slipcase has a few rubs and bumps, mainly to the corners and edges, plus some to the bottom with some spots of color loss.
There is a tear to the right top edge of the slipcase and bumps to the back corners.
This is a rather strange set, just mentioning that they are second edition George Allen & Unwin Ltd., 1966.
Unwin paperbacks, but printed and bound in Canada.
I'm almost certain this is a later set (probably from 1979), but not much info can be found.
The box reads ISBN 0 458 90750 3, and the books 0 04 823155 X, 0 04 823113 4 and 0 04 823157 6.
All three paperbacks mention "this is the only authorized Canadian paperback edition of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, one of the great masterpieces of this century.
A great find for the collector and a lovely set with the ring design by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
