Farmer Giles of Ham, The Rise and Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall and King of the Little Kingdom, by J.R.R. Tolkien.  

This is his second major published work, preceded by the Hobbit.  
Originally published in 1949, this is the 2nd impression of the 1st Edition, published by Allen & Unwin in 1957.  

A Near Fine book, with original dustjacket in Near Fine condition as well.  
Textblock is clean and tight, without any foxing.  

The topstain is still dark and unfaded. Dustjacket shows some age darkening, as well as some sunning to the spine, and is price clipped.  
Virtually no loss, showing some minor rubbing and associated loss to the extremities.  
Tidy gift inscription to front free endpaper.  
Two color plates by Pauline Baynes, as well as being illustrated on almost every page with her line drawings.  

Highly collectable, this is a very nice copy for any Tolkien fans collection.
