The Children of Hurin Deluxe Edition sneak peek (13.02.07)

A Sneak Peek at The Children of Hurin Deluxe Edition

Four days ago I brought you the first view on the final cover of the standard hardback edition (ISBN 0-00-724622-6), today I can share something else! Here is a sneak peek on how the deluxe slipcased edition will look like. This special one-off slipcased edition, quarterbound in quality materials and embossed to match the classic de luxe editions of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, will prove irresistible to collectors and fans and as an attractive gift.

Includes an exclusive new map of the region by Christopher Tolkien (who drew the original maps for The Lord of the Rings) and jacket, colour paintings and black/white drawings by Alan Lee (illustrator of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and Oscar®-winning designer of the film trilogy).

This image does not show yet the stamp that Alan Lee has designed, yet it gives a good idea of what to expect. As was announced this Deluxe Edition will match the current deluxe editions of LOTR (burgundy) and The Hobbit (green). Here is the artwork Alan Lee has created for the gold foil stamp to appear on the front board and slipcase of the deluxe edition of THE CHILDREN OF HÚRIN. It is the Helm of Hador, also called the Dragon Helm of Dor-lómin.
