J.R.R. Tolkien - Les Enfants de Hurin - Alan Lee
The Children of Húrin, the new book of Tolkien, was released last year on the 17th of April. Since then we saw numerous translations of the Children of Húrin.

Now 10 months later this bestseller will be released in France on the 21st of February. To celebrate the release of 'Les enfants de Húrin' the French publisher Christian Bourgois Editeur has invited Alan Lee to come to France to do several book signing sessions. Alan Lee illustrated the Children of Húrin and also the cover image is by his hand.

Alan Lee was one of the two lead concept artists for the 'Lord of the Rings' movie trilogy. Alan Lee won an Academy Award in 2004 for his work on 'The Return Of The King'.

The French translation of the Children of Húrin, Les Enfants de Húrin, was done by Delphine Martin, who in the past did other Tolkien related translations together with Vincent Ferré, like The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien (Lettres de J.R.R. Tolkien in 2005) and The Lord of the Rings Sketchbook (Cahier de croquis du Seigneur des Anneaux in 2006).

An extract of the French translation has been placed at the publishers website this week and a marketing campaign has started as well. A press document has been distributed to the French media and it seems clear that the Children of Húrin will become a big success in France.
