Own a Piece of Literary History with a Restored 1st US Hobbit and Original Dustjacket

A wonderful copy of an extremely collectable book, housed in it's very rare and original dustjacket.
This is the 1st Edition, 1st Impression, 1st State, with the Bowing Hobbit on the title page.

The maps are bound opposite to the order of the List of Illustrations, as per Hammond and Anderson.
Chapter VII header is uncorrected and reads as 'Chapter VI'  

This book features the 4 color and 9 black and white illustrations by Tolkien, all of which are present and in extremely clean and bright condition. There are no names or writing in the book, but it does have a bookplate on the verso of the front free endpaper.

The text block and maps are also very clean and bright, with a light shadow from the glue on the bookplate showing thru from the verso, without any foxing whatsoever. The text block is tight with no loose pages or any seperation from the binding.  

The original cloth shows no shelf wear on the edges, very clean and unmarked.  

I have had the very rare 1st Dustjacket, professionally restored, and will provide a custom slipcase, to protect and show this classic of modern fiction.
