Letter to Tolkien Contest for 40th Anniversary of the Hobbit Presse (08.01.09 by Pieter Collier) - Comments

It was in 1969 that the first Tolkien books were published in German, the three volumes of "The Lord of the Rings" by publisher Ernst Klett.
This proved to be a good thing, because it resulted into the creation of the "Hobbit Presse", that published the better fantasy authors such as William Goldman and Peter S. Beagle in German translations. This year the subfaction of Klett-Cotta specialized in Fantasy literature celebrates its 40th birthday.

To celebrate their anniversary they have released a celebration edition of "Der Hobbit", with the legendary illustrations by Alan Lee. The whole year they will hold special competitions and give away prizes. At their website they will hold monthly contests where you can win fantasy books, and other nice items.
