The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, released in 1979 by Allen and Unwin.
This is the 2nd impression of the 4th edition.

The book is in near mint condition, with no fading of the spine, just the lightest of rubs and wear to the edges and tips and corners of the fold areas.
No writing appears inside the book.
The text block is bright and clean, with no foxing marks.
The map endpapers are clean and bright, unmarked.

The boards are the original dark green cloth with gold stamping of tolkien's name, The hobbit, publsihers name and rune design on the spine.
The title verso has the full printing history up to this Second impression 1979.

The top stain is still dark green and has not faded. Only a small wear shows a tiny mark.

The dustjacket is price clipped and in Very Good Plus condition, with a small amount of rubbing to the edges, and resultant loss at the bottom, but lacking any of the normal tears to the edges. There is a tiny tear to the back at the bottom of the jacket.

A very clean copy of a highly collectable The Hobbit book.

A very nice copy of the 1979 second impression of the fourth edition by the British publisher in a bright jacket.
