Tree and Leaf, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The First Printing of the US Edition of J.R.R. tolkien's fifth published book.
Published in 1965 by Houghton Mifflin, Boston.
This copy is a beautiful example of a Near Fine Book and its original dustjacket.
Clean and bright, unfaded, still shows the original topstain to the textblock. The dustjacket does have considerable wear and loss up and down the fold area's, however it is still in one piece and presents very nicely.
A small amount of loss to the upper portion of the spine, a closed tear to the front panel, along with a slight bit of loss to the upper edge of the front panel.
The dustjacket, by Robert Quackenbush, shows the dark blue and bright orange/red colors, with only the slightest of browning to the flap edges, and
no fading to the spine.
The original blue cloth is clean and bright, unmarked, and the gilt is untarnished.
The interior of the book is also clean and bright, with no previous owner's names or any other writing or marks.
The dustjacket is not price clipped, and displays the $4.00 price on the front flap.
Dark green endpapers as published.
A beautiful, highly collectable copy of one of Tolkiens later works.
Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
