A Near Fine book, with some very light foxing to the edges of the textblock. The original dustjacket (unclipped showing $2.00) in Near Fine condition as well. Showing a few very minor soiling spots, a small amount of rubbing to the edges, a short closed tear (1/4") to the top of the back panel.
Absolutely no fading to the bright blue and orange colors, which is most often very faded.
Textblock is clean and tight, without any foxing, names or writing.
Two color plates by Pauline Baynes, as well as being illustrated on almost every page with her line drawings.
Highly collectable, this is a beautiful copy for any Tolkien fans collection.
