A meeting with the works of J.R.R. Tolkien

On April 4th you can go and enjoy J.R.R. Tolkien and Fantasy Inspired Art Exhibition: Land of Enchantment in England, but if you live at the other side of the world you can go to the Peruvian Tolkien Society annual meeting: The Great Council in Lima, Perú. There will be talks, theater, language sessions, giveaways and a lot of fun.

This April 4 in Miraflores, the British Peruvian Cultural Centre will turn into the gate to Middle-Earth.

The Peruvian Tolkien Society has the pleasure of inviting the general public to the "4th Great Council", which will take place this Saturday, April 4th, 2009, starting at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the British Peruvian Cultural Centre (Jr. Bellavista 527, Miraflores, Lima – Peru).

The STP (by its Spanish initials) is a Cultural Association with more than eight years of presence in the field, dedicated to study and spread the word about the works of Professor J.R.R. Tolkien – author of "The Lord of the Rings", through reading circles and investigation of issues related to Epic-Fantastic Literature.

Their vision is to create a country full of readers, using as incentive the stimulus to imagination and creativity that Fantastic Literature offers.

In this 4th Great Council you’ll get the chance to learn more about the incredible world of Middle-earth, as well as discover aspects not revealed in the movies or the most well-known books. Share with us a different moment where we’ll have discussions, talks and other activities; and most importantly, the Peruvian Tolkien Society will have the chance to meet you and recognize you as a fellow tolkiendil.

The Peruvian Tolkien Society invites all to take part of a stroll through Middle-earth, stage for the most well-known book of this author, "The Lord of the Rings", recently taken to the big screen with great success, and whose prequel "The Hobbit" will be out worldwide in 2010.

Join them in this adventure from 3:30 p.m. (exact time) until 8:00 p.m. Entrance is free!
