The Company They Keep: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien as Writers in Community by Diana Glyer nominated for Hugo Award (24.03.08 by Pieter Collier) - Comments

If there is one book that really has impressed me, it is Diana Glyer's The Company They Keep: C. S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien as Writers in Community. While the content of the book is very great, important facts are discussed and compared, and there is tons of interesting information, it remains easy and is very enjoyable to read. This book will probably become the standard book when people need to know something about The Inklings. If you are interested in the Inklings, this is the book to read. Secondly Diana Glyer is a fantastic person in all aspects. Very friendly and warm, plus it amazes me how a mother who works, has kids, has also managed to write such a fantastic book.

After winning the 2006/2007 Imperishable Flame Award the wonderful book by Diana Glyer has now been nominated for a Hugo Award, as Best Related Book.

Nominations were made by the members of last year’s World Science Fiction Convention, held in Yokohama, and this year’s, to be held in Denver. Members of the 2008 convention will have until July 1, 2008, to vote on this ballot.

Winners will be announced and trophies awarded at Denvention’s Hugo Awards Ceremony on Saturday, August 9.
