Fortinbras Proudfoot and the Evening in Middle-earth

Many now are the years I have travelled into the pages of Tolkien’s Middle Earth and thought it be the time to share a little of my experiences with friends and acquaintances. Gathered around the table one evening at supper time with like-minded hobbits, we began to speak of having a special function.

Consultations with other Middle-earth citizens including Gandalf the White, have added inspiration to my ideas. After careful consideration and discussion, it was decided to hold a dinner dance and Morningside across the river seemed the natural choice for a location.

This is much more than a Dinner Dance. Yes, there will be guests in costume, music, fine food and the like, but by far the most important element will be you. By inviting you to this event I know that you will bring a little bit of Middle-earth with you, whether you are in costume or not, for in the end it is fellowship that will make things long remembered.

If you like Tolkien’s works as I do, or if this is all new to you, then I believe this may be as close as most of us may ever get to being there, short of Smaug the dragon flying overhead, or the One Ring being discovered in the Brisbane River.

So on the night you can become the character you dress as and do as they might have done or be amazed and discover a whole new world.

If ever you longed for the chance of experiencing a wonderfully different gathering, this is perhaps the opportunity so come along and enjoy the Evening in Middle-earth.

A little bit about our Hobbit group…

The Brisbane Tolkien Fellowship is a group which creates Social Events for fans of J.R.R.Tolkien/The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings, here in Brisbane.
Our non-profit registered company name is The Fortinbras Proudfoot Esq. Foundation (ACN: 150957716) which supports children’s education through literacy.

Our Fellowship raises funds at various events such as the Gold Coast and Brisbane Supanovas and our profits will now go to The Pyjama Foundation which we have recently pledged our support to.

The Pyjama Foundation

Creating a Brighter Future for Children in Care. The Pyjama Foundation is a children’s charity which offers a learning-based mentoring program free of charge to children in foster/statutory care.

The Pyjama Foundation “Love of Learning Program” focuses on improving the children’s learning and life outcomes, by improving their literacy and numeracy skills and widening their community networks.
