Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit  Folio Society 1977 (and 1979)

The three volumes of The Lord of the Rings feature the light grey quarter leather binding, with gilded labyrinth design by Jeff Clements;

SET IN 11 POINT BARBOU LEADED I POINT WITH LIBRA FOR DISPLAY.
AND PRINTED BY W & J MACKAY LIMITED ON GUARD BRIDGE SILVER CITY PAPER.
BOUND BY W & J MACKAY LIMITED IN QUARTER BASIL WITH SCHOLOCO COLORETA CLOTH SIDES.
BLOCKED WITH A SPECIAL DESIGN BY JEFF CLEMENTS.

The Hobbit has the same Maze design in a quarterleather maroon binding.

It is VERY difficult to find the LotR edition without rubbing to the spine (showing a pink underlay), or marks to the spine or some wear to the gilt titles.

These are in very good condition, a few slight marks to the spine (the picture seems to show some rubbing to the gilt but it is a trick of the light).

The maps are included as endpapers.
