A complete 12 volume set of 1st UK editions. The Book of Lost Tales I (Allen & Unwin 1983): Excellent condition. The dj has no price on it at all. It looks like there was a price sticker on it once but there is only a scuff mark left. The Book of Lost Tales Part II (Allen & Unwin, 1984): Excellent condition. The dj has no price on it at all. The Lays of Beleriand (Allen & Unwin,1985): Excellent condition. 'Price net £14.95 in UK only' on the dj. There is a small mark just under the H in EARTH in the title [THE HISTORY OF MIDDLE-EARTH] at the top of the front of the dj. In pencil a bookseller has written £9.50 in top right corner of the front right end page. The Shaping of Middle-Earth (Allen & Unwin, 1986): Excellent condition. 'Price net £14.95 in UK only' on the dj. Very small wrinkle at the corner of the base of the spine and front of the dj. Slight wrinkle at the top of the front of the dj. Some pencil bookseller's notes (£9.95 then a P underneath, then a 26 further down the page) in top right corner of the front right end page. The Lost Road and other writings (Unwin Hyman, 1987) : Excellent condition. Dj has 'Price net £16.95 in UK only' on it. Very slight wrinkling at the base of the spine and top left corner of the front of the dj. Slight indent to the top of the inside front board. The Return of the Shadow ((Unwin Hyman, 1988): Excellent condition. Dj has £17.95 net UK on it. There is a protective jacket over the dj which has some pockmarks on it but they are not on the dj. The Treason of Isengard ((Unwin Hyman, 1989): Excellent condition. Dj has £17.95 NET UK on it. Some pencil bookseller's notes (2119 £17.95 crossed out £11-95 LD 26 in top right corner of the front right end page (spread out down half the outside edge). The War of the Ring ((Unwin Hyman, 1990): Excellent condition. Dj has £17.95 NET UK on it. Small pencil bookseller's note (£12.00 and a D underneath) in top right corner of the front right end page. Very slight wrinkling at the base of the spine of the dj. Sauron Defeated (HarperCollins, 1992): Excellent condition. Dj has £20.00 net on it. Small pencil bookseller's note (£14.00 and a small 'W' ish character underneath) in top right corner of the front right end page. Morgoth's Ring ((HarperCollins, 1993): Excellent condition. Very slight yellowing to the outer edge. Small pencil bookseller's note (27242 @ 15.00) in top right corner of the front right end page. The War of the Jewels (HarperCollins, 1994): Excellent condition. Slight Yellowing to the outside edges. Dj has £25.00 net printed on it. There is a small tear (1/2cm) to the top of the spine of the dj and another very small nick to the left. On the title page has been stamped (3" x 2") in red: THIS BOOK WAS SLIGHTLY DAMAGED IN TRANSIT AND IS NOW BEING SOLD AT A SPECIAL BARGAIN PRICE. The top of the stamp just cuts in to 'Christopher Tolkien' so the main part of the stamp covers blank paper. There is no other damage to the book apart from what I have already described. The Peoples of Middle-Earth ((HarperCollins, 1996): Excellent Condition. Slight yellowing to pages. Dj has £25.00 printed on it.
