This specially bound and slipcased three volume edition of the Lord of the Rings has been published to celebrate the centenary of J.R.R. Tolkien's birth on January 3, 1892.

This edition has been limited to 250 copies for Harper Collins Publishers, London each one numbered and signed by the artist.

This copy is new, still wrapped in original publishers shrink wrap, so limitation number is unknown.

A beautiful set quarter bound in dark green leather and cloth with the JRRT monogram on the front boards of the books and the original publishers slipcase.
Each book has gilded edges, ribbon marker bound in, and signed limitation page.

Fifty original illustrations by Alan Lee thru the 3 books.
You can follow how the movies were first visualized by Lee, and carried thru by Peter Jackson, with Lee's assistance throughout the movie's production.

An exceptional set of books, again one of only 250 produced world wide. Almost never found in new state!

This separate three book set, makes handling and viewing much less of a problem then the Limited single volume editions that were large and awkward to handle.
